Finding the Balance in Dualism in Peru

New Consciousness Review

Jul 17 2012

It is always so fascinating to discover how current leading edge thinking on consciousness is actually spiraling around to a world view similar to that held by ancient indigenous societies, like that of the Andean shamans. Our guest Dr. Hillary S. Webb is the Managing Editor of the Journal of Anthropology of Consciousness, and the author of Exploring Shamanism, Traveling Between the Worlds: Conversations with Contemporary Shamans, and Yanantin and Masintin in the Andean World: Complementary Dualism in Modern Peru. In this interview we discuss the philosophical concepts of dualism and integration that form the core of her book. Hillary received her undergraduate degree in Journalism from New York University, and went on to earn an MA in Consciousness Studies from Goddard College and a PhD in Psychology from Saybrook University. She lives in Southern Maine.
